Meet Your Lead Trainer – Karl Palin

After suffering burnout during 2013 in the corporate world as an IT project manager, Karl turned to yoga as a last resort. What started as a personal escape and restorative practice for his competitive fitness regime, became a life calling to serve others in the mental health and spiritual space. He founded One Big Heart in 2017 with a mission to help people build stronger bodies and clearer minds through the power of yoga.

Do I need any experience with breathwork or meditation?

No. This is built for complete beginners. We start simple and build confidence fast.

How long does each lesson take?

Each video is 3–7 minutes. You can practise in under 10 minutes a day.

What results should I expect — and how soon?

Most people notice better calm, clearer focus, and improved sleep routines within 1–2 weeks if they practise consistently.

What if I’m anxious or feel “activated” when I breathe deeply?

That’s common. We teach gradual, controlled techniques and options so you stay within a safe, manageable range. You’re never forced to push intensity.

Is this safe if I’m recovering from injury, surgery, or burnout?

In most cases, yes — this is designed for recovery and regulation. If you have any medical concerns, check with your healthcare professional first.

When should I practise — morning or night?
